So it's not that fasting is anyways new to us. Our body and our DNA, when we see hyper palatable food, we are wired to eat more and store it. Our body also has lived in fed and fasted state. So we are in fed state or we are in a fasted state. And puranee zamane, when we were hunter and gatherers, these two states existed very, very closely with each other. So if you had food one day, 24 to 48 hours, you probably didn't have food. So our bodies are designed to live like that. But currently with the abundance of food and there's no scarcity, there's nothing, we are in a fed state at all the time.
So we have lost the ability to understand what is also real hunger.
