By creating scenarios in your training time, Where the same amount of stress is introduced in that training period itself. For example, it doesn't happen that people entered Taj. But we have a kill house drill in the Marine Command. Where there are cutouts of red and green. Red is terrorist and green is hostage. And you have to enter inside in buddy pairs of 6 or 7. And you get in and clear all the rooms and you are fired at the red disc. So you are trying to burst the stress. I would have done it more than 400 times. Now, when someone tells me go and do this Taj operation, It will not create stress because I have done this. I know, I have been there, done that. The second example is, you do so much of training, That everything for you becomes, you work like automaton.

in the Hell Week, you know, you stay up for 96 hours or 104 hours. You'll be surprised to know that when we have Hell Week in the Marine Commandos, everybody almost qualifies. Now Hell Week has started in all Special Forces courses where you are sleep deprived for about 96 to 104 hours and you are given tremendous amount of physical punishment. They give you just about one hour of break where you go and do a morning routine and shave and wear a fresh set of clothes and thereafter come back and join the training again. It goes on and goes on. So what happens? Obviously, you cannot be sleep deprived for such a long time, but you act like a zombie, like an automaton, whatever the instructor is telling you, do it. You are in a team. Every team of six people or eight people are given a boat. The boat weight is about 250 kilos. You have to keep the boat on top all the time, run on the beach with the boat and then launch the boat in the sea and then do pedaling. So these are all interplay of all this thing which will build up your psychology. Your mindset builds up strengthens to take any adverse conditions situations. So the whole idea of Hell Week is it challenges your mental barriers leading to your physical conditioning. So that is the whole challenge of this entire Hell Week.

When you meet a close friend after a really long time, you ask them, hi, how are you? And you get busy with the mundane. A very interesting question I like asking is, what is it that's keeping you up at night? Are you thinking about it? Are you asking people around you who you love? What is it that really concerns them? Is it something that can be solved for? Or is it just an irrational fear? Whatever it is, take two seconds and know that for yourself. For me, it's obviously the health and wellbeing of my loved ones. Things that are solvable, it could be a fight, it could be a distraction, and that really will give me sleepless nights. So I will try and resolve conflict as soon as possible. But the next time you meet someone you love, ask them, what's keeping you up at night tonight?
