Take inputs from your parents.But some decisionsmust be yours alone

There are 3 places where you shouldn't listen to your parents. First is where you want to live. Where you want to live should be decided on the basis of your goals, your aspirations. Stay with them, stay apart. Don't be tied down to what they are saying. Make your own decisions. The second very important area is what your faith is. Religion is one thing, but more important than that is what your faith is, what your belief system is. Third, very importantly, who is your life partner. Take inputs from them, understand what they think, what is the need for a good life partner. But that decision has to be yours. It should be your choice, your decision.

Ultimately, it should be your responsibility.
